Congratulations Ms. Philippines Maria Venus Raj for winning Ms Universe as the 4th placer out of lots contenders in that big event.

Following Ms. Mexico is Jamaica’s Yendi Phillips as 1st runner up, Australia’s Jesinta Campbell and Ukraine’s Anna Poslavska as 2nd and 3rd runners up.

Candidates from Ireland, Albania, Puerto Rico, South Africa and Guatemala make it to the top 10 while candidates from Belgium, France, Russia, Colombia, and Czech Republic make it to the top 15.

Raj, 22, from Camarines Sur donned a silver dress for the evening gown competition which she described as “comfortable.”

Malacanang congratulates Venus Raj

Malacanang on Tuesday congratulated Venus Raj for making it to the top 5.

In a text message to reporters, Presidential Communications Group Development Secretary Ricky Carandang said Raj’s success brought a “bright spot.”

“The success of Ms. Raj is a bright spot in an otherwise sad day for our country,” Carandang said.

Raj’s victory came a day after the deadly Quirino Grandstand bus hostage taking which left at least eight Hong Kong tourists killed.

Commission (PRC) announced Sunday that 37,527 out of 94,462 passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing.

The examination was given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, La Union, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Sulu, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last November 2009.

The results of examination with respect to sixteen (16) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:
* Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
* Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
* 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
* 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
* 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and
* 1 short brown envelope with name and profession

They would also have to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
